The course will be offered to the public at a cost of $2500.00 per participant and includes lunch and light refreshments.
This course is geared toward drivers who have traffic-related matters, those who have been disqualified
from driving due to an accumulation of Demerit Points, novice drivers as well as experienced drivers and
most especially repeat offenders may benefit from this course to encourage safe driving behaviour.
The entire course is designed to encourage traffic offenders to take responsibility for their actions as
drivers and change their attitude and behaviour towards safe road practices. The course also seeks to
highlight to drivers the rights of others, especially pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists who use the
roadways. The course will emphasise the need for drivers to be aware of all other road users and make
choices that minimises risks for all road users.
The key principles underlying all the modules of this course are:
- Awareness of dangerous conduct on roads and the consequences of those actions
- Understanding that everyone has a right to travel on the road safely
- Making choices to keep yourself and other road users safe
PROCESS AND EVALUATION
The course will be delivered via in-person sessions over two (2) consecutive days and will consist of eight
(8) contact hours. Participants will be required to pre-register for the course either by using our online
portal or calling our office to provide the relevant information.
The course will be hosted weekly, on Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 3pm at the Arrive Alive
Office in Fernandes Business Centre, Eastern Main Road, Laventille and will be limited based on the
restrictions imposed as a result of Covid19.
At the end of the second day participants will be evaluated based on their understanding of the course via
a multiple-choice exam consisting of fifty (50) questions. Participants are required to achieve an 80%
score to be issued a Certificate of Completion.
