World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic VictimsView

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is a worldwide event that draws attention to the tragedy of loss experienced because of road traffic deaths. It is an opportunity to remember those whose lives have been lost, support their loved ones and advocate for safer road systems that benefit all road users.

This event draws attention to the scale of emotional and economic devastation caused by road crashes and gives recognition to the suffering of road crash victims and the work and support for the rescue services. It has become an important tool in global efforts to reduce road casualties.

In Trinidad & Tobago, Arrive Alive has hosted the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims by inviting the families and friends of victims to come walk, run and cycle with us. We also invite the immediate families to share brunch with us. To continue to encourage advocacy and education, the event also features an educational and interactive Traffic Village in which we invite key stakeholders of road safety to demonstrate their initiatives and participate in the event.

Annual Road Safety AwardsView

This event is a collaborative effort among Arrive Alive, the Ministry of Works and Transport and Perenco T&T Limited as title sponsor. The objective is to recognize and honor the hard-working First Responders who have shown a strong commitment to saving lives on the nation’s roads. 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of this special occasion.

This initiative serves to:

  • Recognize the efforts of those who excel in carrying out their commission.
  • Motivate them to continue in this life saving work.
  • Provide an opportunity for decision makers within governmental agencies to highlight specific plans that can contribute to safer road systems.

School Road Safety Program

Reinforcing safe behaviour in our young road users creates a solid foundation of safe road use, as we build on children’s strengths to develop skills to manage themselves and others in traffic-related situations. We visit our educational institutions, interacting with our youth to encourage good road safety habits.

Thus far, Arrive Alive has visited over 165 schools throughout Trinidad. This has been possible only through the kind support of sponsors such as Atlantic LNG, Paria Fuel Trading Company, Perenco Trinidad and Tobago, Massy Foundation and ANSA Motors.
