Age 82
On Tuesday the 14th of September 2021 at 12:35 pm, a part of me died. It was at that time I received the news that my mother was unresponsive after a vehicle accident.
Not only was this news shocking, but I never expected that when I arrived at the scene, that would be the last time I saw my mother alive. I screamed for her to wake up, but she remained unresponsive as I waited for the ambulance to arrive. As I waited and did not see an ambulance, I asked for help in putting her into my vehicle. I rushed her to St. James Medical Complex; it was the longest 10 minutes of my life. It was so painful; I prayed asking God for a miracle. She, however, was pronounced dead.
I have since busied myself, continuously to block out the pain. Her untimely death has left a void in my heart.
