Leah Annan, died 2014-05-11, 20 years old

Leah was a bubbly and cheerful child and naturally everyone gravitated to her. On May 11th, 2014 (Mother’s Day), Leah visited me at home at around 4pm and after hugging and telling me how much she loved me, she left at around 8:00pm. At around 10:30pm that night, I received a call that she was involved in an accident on the Eastern Main Road in Arouca. I did not make much of it, however my heart began to sink when I observed a lot of similarity with the scene at the hospital. My daughter died before I arrived at the hospital that night. It was revealed that the car in which she was the front seat passenger was being driven by her boyfriend recklessly with him overtaking a line of cars before colliding with another vehicle head on. The doctor indicated to me that she was non- responsive when she arrived at the hospital which indicated that she died at the scene.
