Traffic Laws

Ticketable Road Traffic Offences

View the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Bill 2014 currently under debate in parliament.

You can download/view the traffic laws as a .pdf file but they are rather difficult to follow, given that they are written in legalese. In the following pages, we have translated  them into plain English to give you the gist, but please remember that these “translations” are not official legal documents. The laws shown refer to:

Drinking under the influence; Dangerous Driving; Driving without Insurance; Driving without a Valid Driver’s Permit; Driving without a Seat belt.

Here is Chapter 48:50 of the Laws of Trinidad & Tobago from the Highway Patrol Booklet detailing fines for Traffic Offences.
