What should i check on my vehicle?

The best way to check a vehicle is using a checklist so you don’t leave anything out.

In the transportation industry, one of the best basic, simple and easy to use checklists, that requires no paper or clipboard, is simply called:

P.O.W.E.R !
P – Petrol
O – Oils
W – Water
E – Electrics
R – Rubbers

Petrol

Ensure that you have enough fuel for the journey before leaving and/or you have money to put in some at the petrol station or your trip may well be cut short !!

Oils

Most vehicles have four basic oils to check:

  1. Engine
  2. Transmission
  3. Brakes/Clutch
  4. Power Steering

Water

  1. Cooling System: Radiator on older cars/Expansion tanks on newer ones (Coolant)
  2. Battery Water
  3. Windscreen Washer Fluid

Electrics

All Lights and Electronics – Head, Tail, Brake, Reverse etc.

Rubber

  1. Tyres
  2. Wiper Blades
